North Dakota students are waiting for inspired founders to launch unique, high-quality charter schools across the state.
Charter founders hold the key.
What is a
charter school?
Here’s the simple answer (that’s why you came to us, right?!): A charter school is a publicly-funded but independently run K-12 school with a physical location for in-person learning. Charter schools have the freedom to develop unique learning focuses and environments outside of the typical public district school experience to serve students with varying needs and interests.
Could I be a founder?
Yes! Feel a little intimidated by the word “founder”? Wonder if you’re in that category? You might be a founder if…
- You are an educator or former principal or school administrator who has been yearning for the freedom to build something new for students that isn’t possible in the traditional public district school structure.
- You are a parent who is interested in starting the school you’ve been looking for to serve your child!
- You are an entrepreneur with a love for education looking to bring together the best teachers to start something that doesn’t exist in your community.
- You’re an expert in your field — an author, mathematician, scientist, or artist — with a dream to create a place where K-12 students can learn while developing their passions.
- And that’s just the start. A charter founder can be anyone with a dream to create a unique, high-quality education option and the guts and drive to make it happen!
